Black Butterfly

  • Aug. 16th, 2008 at 2:49 AM
Poet
Little black butterfly born,
Through union of love under a fading sun,
Fated to follow the darkest decree.
Birthright not of earthly lineage,
Penned in tainted blood,
Feeble mortal mind surrenders to demonic will,
The childs life is decided and sealed.

Through many moons her power grows,
Through her life she learns and drinks the universe beneath the saturn sky.
Her hour creeps ever closer.
A dark night begins to fall slowly upon her heart,
Gathering strength and breeding malice.
A desperate struggle within,
In this rides the balance of life in all its forms.

For all her efforts,
Through sufferring to which none can compare,
Her will is broken not unlike her heavy and now blackened heart.

She turns and is reborn,
A child of the under,
Of frostfall and silence.
The land shudders at the arrival of this ethereal terror.
Her innocence long since drew its last and dying breath.

As hopelesness decends with a blanket of snow,
The little black butterfly unmakes the world.

Awakened from her destructive slumber, to a world reduced to sleet and ash,
She falls to her knees and cries.
Wounded deeper with the utmost intensty.
One cannot fathom her pain,
Nor can she mask it.

In an empty existence where not even the call of the smallest birds remain,
The only sound will forever be,
Her tears melting the ash and snow.
The black butterfly who never knew her destiny,
A life beyond her own will.
As often it is for us all.

I wrote originally a much shorter verson of this but listening to a song called Shadow Of The Colossus Snowfall on Forbidden Lands from the OCremix site that Mike sent me gave me a huge boost of inspiration.

Woman Of Winter Eternal

Poet

Flowing between the covered trees,
Casting a captivating shadow,
So mindlessly alluring.
A flower blossoms by the winter sun,
Beauty brings with her a false spring,
With it, the scent of Eden to ebrace my eyes.

Leading me through the falling white,
Through the mirrors of snow and ice.
By the silver & blue roses,
Enveloped by her ever-watchful eyes.

Lead to her palace on the cliffs in which I shall sleep,
Awaiting her return,
Awakening by the frozen seas.
Numbing my ever present memories,

A world devoid of heart & frozen cold,
When true winter has taken hold.
When frost covers all the eyes can see,
As the air around me begins to freeze.

Until that day I shall remain,
In the castle by the forest,
By the seas,
Built on Edens garden trapped beneath the deepest ice.
The coldest days will shape my dreams,
Until my lady comes for me.

Our lives,
You build your walls for me to climb,
A billion walls for me to climb,
You build your walls for me to climb.

Lock and Key

 The door to this heart.
Padlock in hand,
Ready the key,
But something holds the latch out of arms reach from me.
Reaction is to close,
What holds it open? Unknown to me.

Confusion lost in thought,
The silence she has a way,
Of making simple thing distort.
Do I close the open door?
Do I save myself from pain?

When the innocence breaks into horror,
Force the key back into place.
When chance fades into cold,
When reality breaks you away.
As the heart starts building barricades.
You wont look at me the same..

Black Swans Tragedy

  • Jul. 9th, 2008 at 10:13 PM
Poet

True, deepest darkness,
These wounds of mine.
A heart in turmoil,
I cannot bear to smile.
Within this bitter silence,
Slowly crumbling to dust.
Poetry for my dying soul,
Every word, so deathly cold.
I cry, though tearless is my pain.
The thrill of being wanted now laid to waste.
I cannot stand those empty eyes,
The mirror shows,
A lonely soul staring back at me.
I do not dare to breathe,

Every aching gasp,
A step closer to my earthly farewell.
Will I be missed?
Teach me to numb this heart of mine.
I close my eyes.
The image of a lake,
White swans take flight to the heavens.
But not I,
The black swan,
The lonely poet,
Writer of lovers tragedy.
Bring forth my endless night.
I am losing to myself,
I am sorry.
I live no more to shame,
Nor me, nor you.
I have forgotten passion,
Forgotten laughter.
Thus my heart has forgotten how to beat.
My pen, these words, my life,
To vanish forever...

Walk Away From The Sun

  • Jul. 3rd, 2008 at 4:26 PM
Poet

Walk away from the sun,
Come slowly undone.
I can see in your eyes I've already won.
I could bleed for a smile, I could cry for some fun.
Walk away from the sun, and tell everyone. Yeah.

There's so much left in the air
So much to tell from a stare,
There's so much left to defend,
But i am no fun.

So turn away from the ones who hurt everyone,
I can tell by your smile you're coming undone.
I could bleed for a smile; could die for a gun,
Walk away from the sun and kill everyone.

So tiny dancer beware, we're medicated and scared.
This smile is so hard to wear, but i have no gun.

So turn away from the ones who hurt everyone,
I can tell by your smile you're coming undone.
I could bleed for a smile; could die for a gun.
Walk away from the sun and kill everyone.

And you're fading with every day
(you could've been the next one, should've been enough for me)
You're fading with every day
(you could've been the next one, should've been enough for me)
You're fading with every day
(you could've been the next one, should've been enough for me)
And you're fading with every day... whoa

There's so much left in the air
So much to tell from your stare
There's so much left to defend
But i am no fun

And you're fading with every day
(you could've been the next one, should've been enough for me)
You're fading with every day
(you could've been the next one, should've been enough for me)
You're fading with every day
(you could've been the next one, should've been enough for me)
And you're fading with every day... whoa

Walk away from the sun
(fading with every day)
(you could've been the next one, should've been enough for me)

Have fun living your life alone XD

Poet
So its finally happened.
Even your own family can turn on you in a heartbeat. My family wars back and forth constantly, we lose one side then patch it, only to have the other side go. Now we are stuck with no-one. Ties on one side are fragile enough as it is....But ties with the other might as well be completely severed.

Who would have thought someone from my own family could be so disgustingly hurtful.
That which we face each day is both burden and lesson alike....I guess the lesson here is you can never really trust anyone. After all if you cannot trust family, who the hell can you trust?
Things with within the family are shakey enough as it is. The last thing we needed was this -_-'

I admit I miss that other feeling, its been absent in my life not for too long,  yet I miss it already.
Problem is you can never find a decent girl here these days.
Any girl that I come across thats sweet and pretty and intelligent, well they all seem to live in other countries...mabey I have a thing for foriegn girls >_>

The grass is always greener on the other side I guess.

Moonlight Angels, Frost Forests.

  • Jul. 2nd, 2008 at 2:24 AM
Poet

Little angel dance on the moonlight,
Winter snow falls gently from scattered clouds.

Twirling and spinning like the icy flakes moving about her,
The frost faeries move to her rhythm,
Crystals of water turning with every beat.

Along the white rivers edge,
Into the wonderland forest they dance,
Through silver and blue,
To the place they will sleep,
Underneath the frozen waterfalls.
Pillows of white powder and blankets of cloud coloured leaves.

Ghost Girl & The Winter Mirrors

  • Jul. 2nd, 2008 at 2:22 AM
Poet

 Cold unyielding winter halls,
Frost covered columns,
Snow mirrors decorate walls.

A ghostly visage floats down from room to room,
Candle in hand,
Flames glow melting the gloom.

Amber flame and moonlit glow,
Fire and Ice,
Ember and Snow.

Millenia since the living travelled these corridors,
Decrepit and moss ridden,
Cracked wooden floors.

A lonely girl,
Saddened is she,
No reflection in the crystaline mirrors to see.

Haunting the castle,
No summer will come,
Her spirit forever to call this relic her home.

Death and Rebirth

  • Jun. 30th, 2008 at 12:25 AM
Poet

Before my eyes,
A field of roses dies.
Another of lifes treasures,
Lies withered in ruin.

Thier petals fall,
To crimson seas,
The blood of our sorrows,
Of forgotten dreams.

But my despair has hidden,
A gift un-given,
The seeds of the future,
Of wonder and light.

Within dead fields,
Within cracked hearts of pain,
Red roses of love will blossom again.

From death comes life,
Dark destroying light.
Hope blooms unexpected,
Passion anew follows the night.

This one was a sad one to write. Beacuse I had not long lost my heart,
When someone close to me walked away, I was very upset..
So writing something half sad half happy was not easy.

What I would give for a hand to hold....
Its been so long.....Do I really still miss her?

The Devil and the Daisy

  • Jun. 28th, 2008 at 2:09 AM
Poet

This poem is dedicated to the poor woman from Daisy Hill whos life was viciously taken by a horrible soulless man not long ago. I am truly afraid of what some people are capable of.

An assult on a school girl and a murder in the same day? I have never been so disgusted in my life.

The Devil and the Daisy

Insanity breaks,
Irrational thought,
Around his life is a noose pulled taught.

Suicidal action by stupidity,
His own demise,
Though none shall grieve.

The flower blossoms brightest before time takes its life,
Like the devil who stole innocence by knife.

Now the flower lies broken,
Withered on the floor,
Soaked in red,
Dead before the dawn.

Rise and be free flower,
Heaven awaits thee.
Hell for the devil,
Torment for eternity.

For Kitty (One of my ex gfs >_>)

Poet

This was one I wrote a LONG time ago when I was with my ex Kitty.
I dont regret any poems I write which is why Im including this one.

My one and only heart for you,
Flowers bloom at the fall of your footsteps,
The night runs from an angels smile,
Only your voice my sweet love,
The beauty of your sirens song,
Those never sweeter words whispered from your delicate lips.

Guide me away from the crashing waves,
Tow my soul to the safety of land,
Embrace me, dear lady, and warm my winterheart,
The vision of beauty in you,
The fragile but full reflection of your eyes tells the long lost tales of romanticide and romance,
Love and Lust alike.

The faint sound of a heart beating,
I shall fall asleep with you,
To dream, To carry away with your heart,
Making a million memories to last,
With you and only you.

Orchestra Of The Lilly

  • Jun. 27th, 2008 at 6:04 PM
Poet

Lilly by the Lake,
The frozen flower blooms,
The dawn melts its frosted shell,
Created by the moon.

The scent of nectar and honey fills the air,
Blood Orchids close to sleep,
Disappearing as though they were never there.

Rays of light from a golden sun,
Bounce back and forth upon the water,
The humming of crickets and cicada's can be heard all around the shoreline borders.
Trickling gently against the reeds,
The orhcestra of daytime plays,
To an audience of birds and bees.

The sun burns brightly,
The winds begin to change,
Slowly now the day begins to give itself away,
The evening brings a cool breeze,
Butterflies return from whence they came,
Moths follow fireflies light in the absense of the sun.

Fog sweeps across the water,
Covering the shore,
The Lilly of the Lake shall close and rest forever more.
The night is now upon us,
The frost begins once more,
The stars come out to play as Blood Orchids return to flower.

Now the day is over,
The moon shall cast a glow,
Illuminating all from wildflower to the soul.
This lilly blooms but once,
Only once in mortal life,
Now that time has passed and It shall fade away with the failing light.

(This poem is one of the older ones not many have read.)

Chronicles of the Lost.

  • Jun. 27th, 2008 at 5:37 PM
Poet

My Memory Of You
Deepest recesses of the darkest mind,
Locked within eternal silence.
Forgotten faces flash before empty eyes,
Shallow kisses, scarring lies.

"Let past be past," the voices say,
"Your angel shall not return today."
Waiting in vain has become the only means,
To pass time with little misery.

With the stars that fall,
Upon the nighttime wind do I always hear my darlings call.
Her beautiful voice a soothing curse to my ears,
Smiling in memory soon followed by tears.
Dwelling on those thoughts I drown again,

My heart is a rose shredded and drenched.
Mishapen emotion fuels only the sorrow,
I can do naught but wish for a better tomorrow.
My wounds call for a delicate touch,
A lonely poet, I am treated as such.
Lost in infinite depths of my very escape,
Emotionally raped by Father Time and Mother Mind.

Hope and Hopelessness.
Calling to her at the peak of my voice,
Cracked and breaking.
Elegent calling now distorted noise,
She cannot hear, my heart is breaking.
Calling from within this void,
My heart is hers for the taking.

Empty Breakdown.
Have all I left remaining within,
An innocent mind desecrated now blind.
My path once walked with such conviction,
My only fear was the loss of my happiness.
For she was my strength, and in time,
Became my only strength.
Crashing waterfalls from deep behind ice blue eyes,
Stripping me of all my pride.

My Last Plea....
A hollow shell,
A rotting corpse,
Upon deaths doorstep I grieve my loss.
My last write of passion inked in ignorance.
My last breath laced with the stench of bitterness,
My last drink mixed acidic.
My long lost love calls not my name.

Defeated.
Thy spirits blood-chilling screams shred and tear,
Within thee my dreams shall no longer come to pass.
Thou hast burdened thy beloved poet, Father, with more un-lit candles than his hastily aging heart can bare.

My Autumn Is You

  • Jun. 27th, 2008 at 5:33 PM
Poet

The autumn sky watches me,
My last resort for a breathless view.
I cannot feel,
I cannot move to protect myself,
From losing the memory of you.

Like the dying winds,
My heart stops beating,
I curl up inside the leaves,
Dying memories and dreams.

Before long my vision will no longer be haunted by you.
No longer captures my reason for living,
Never to deal me another injury.
The cutting edge that used to be you.

Oh how I gave out till my last breath,
Your every desire was my everything else.
Not one shift in focus,
It now seems so hopeless.
My wasted effort you drank of me, robbing my freedom.

In time,
Rational thought says patience will lift my burden.
But seconds passing,
By the sanity driving ticks on a clock,
Cannot heal every scar,
Nor can it repair every broken lock.

Like you,
Every passing face leaves its mark.
Constant reminders that our search never ends,
That happiness is always just out of reach,
Just around the very next bend.

My long lost obsession,
My search for perfection is gone,
Left home.
Dont bother looking for me,
Im just another broken dream to you.

Autumn signifies the death of beauty,
Your festering mark signifies the death of me.

Burning Roses

Poet
Emptiness inside,
Devoid of that once warming touch,
Skipping beats and embrace,
Sacrificed for a blanket of night without the stars.
Burning roses and burning hearts,
Such cold eyes behind your darkened sky.
Ashen petals falling to the dust,
Crumbling to nothing as one day we all must..

Beginnings and backups. (Her Faded Rose)

  • Jun. 27th, 2008 at 4:44 PM
Poet
So here it is, looks like this is going to be my backup site for my poetry and a kind of diary too (im not much for putting up personal stuff on a daily basis but I will add stuff here and there. Like all "Digital-Age" poets and writers, Im shit scared Im going to lose all my work. >_> so naturally I need like 2 to 3 copies of everything. ^_^

It looks like all you newcomers to my poetry are in for a little surprise too, because Im going to upload a lot of my old work from my very OLD myspace www.myspace.com/seetherdarkside which I basically never go on anymore due to personal reasons.

I have quite a few fans out there and hopefully there will be more.
With any luck if I get enough I will end up getting my work published. Ive wanted to do that for a while but havent because Ive been busy with soooo many other things I just havent had the time, -_-'

For anyone who missed it, I got my new Yamaha Motif XS7 Keyboard just a few days ago, Ive been staying up till all hours of the morning making music and talking to a few new friends.

Anyways Id better get started, Ill post up a myspace bulletin with all this stuff in it so a few of you are likely to read this twice lol.

The first poem I shall put up is one I wrote for my newest friend Chrisu, a lovely young lady from Finland.
I wrote it to one of her pictures since I seem to be greatly inspired by her excellent photography. ^_^

Her Faded Rose

Deepest shades of black and grey speak for what is lost,
Silenced by a buried heart.
By the ashes she stops and stares at me,
In an instant I feel her pain.

Blinded by the emptiness inside,
She sways with the flow of the dying winds,
Compelled to fade away with her lingering stare.

"Is this all that is left for me..?"
Whispered words, as she looks deep within.
Searching my eyes as mine search hers.
Within those eyes I see exactly what could be.
Dreams within dreams.

But she is seperating at the seams.
Her rose burns into the night,
Destined to turn to ash before the morning light.
Cloud covered sunrise born,
Her mind bleeds a palette of scattered thoughts.

I cannot turn and walk away,
We speak to each other through distracted glances,
Let me ease the burning flames upon this flower.
Till the world takes us,
Till we crumble to dust.
I wish to be the rain to cover her.

Her eyes, I feel,
They hear my thoughts,
She lifts a smile from delicate lips.
A single silver silent tear slips away.

She knows this was a life not ment for her,
Within she knows that it could never last.
She speaks my name one last time,
The beautiful vision of her begins to fade,
The clouds part as she disappears beneath the beams of light.

This was the first poem Ive written in quite some time,
Thankyou very much for letting me write for your picture, It was lots of fun. ^_^ <3

Uninspired

Poet
To feel silence,
Silence in the hands that once wrote 1000 pages.
Lacking delicate poetry for 1000 lonely angels.
A poet who has no subject to write,
Like a deep romance without a passionate night.
Mind at odds with words, chaotic thoughts, the hands are still,
Without movement ink unused dries upon the quill.
Inspiration blown away with the wind, like a bird, clipped wings, grounded and flightless,
The once revered poet drowns in visionless dismal silence.
